Starting signal June 12: German Federal Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder personally opens the new ICE airport station Cologne/Bonn. The railway station itself as well as the adjacent train tunnels of the airport loop are equipped with the intelligent fire detection system FibroLaser II®.
The Federal Chancellor works together with Prime Minister Peer Steinbrueck, Head of German railway system Hartmut Mehdorn and airport CEO Michael Garvens the switches for that crucial piece in Cologne’s intermodal transport system.
